Malcarne Tree is growing and looking to add an experienced Landscape Crew Leader to our team.
This position is ideal for someone with hands-on landscaping experience who can lead a crew, communicate clearly, and take pride in completing high-quality work efficiently and safely. The Landscape Crew Leader will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day landscape projects, directing crew members, operating equipment, and making sure each job is completed to company standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a landscape crew on residential and commercial job sites
- Review daily job assignments and make sure work is completed safely and efficiently
- Assist with and oversee landscape maintenance, planting, mulching, grading, cleanup, pruning, and general property improvement tasks
- Operate and oversee the safe use of hand tools, power tools, mowers, trimmers, blowers, skid steers, trailers, and other landscaping equipment
- Load and unload tools, materials, plants, mulch, soil, and equipment
- Communicate clearly with crew members, supervisors, project managers, and customers
- Ensure job sites are clean, organized, and professional before leaving
- Train and guide crew members on proper work methods, safety practices, and company expectations
- Identify job site issues, material needs, safety concerns, or changes in scope and report them to management
- Maintain tools, trucks, trailers, and equipment in good working condition
- Track basic job progress, crew productivity, and materials used as needed
- Assist with seasonal work such as storm cleanup, snow work, or other outdoor services when needed
- Follow all company safety procedures and promote a safe work environment
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license required
- Prior landscaping experience required
- Previous crew leader, foreman, or supervisory experience preferred
- Ability to lead, motivate, and organize a small crew
- Experience with mowing, trimming, planting, mulching, pruning, grading, cleanup, and general landscape work
- Ability to safely operate landscaping tools, trailers, and equipment
- Strong communication skills and a professional attitude
- Must be dependable, punctual, and safety-focused
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, walk, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day
- Basic mechanical knowledge and equipment maintenance experience preferred
- Tree work, hardscape, skid steer, or snow removal experience is a plus
